Location - Powerhouse Gym is located 11 km from Koah San Road and should cost you around 260 Baht in an Uber Taxi (30minutes in the traffic). It's located on the second floor of a large shopping mall. The is also a fantastic supermarket downstairs that has a salad bar (with chicken!!) in case you want a healthy protein kick after.
Price - This gym we have to say was extremely expensive, costing us 300 Baht (£7) each for a day pass. More then our gym at home!
Equipment - They do have some really good equipment, specifically if you're into weight training. Theres around 5 bench press machines, a couple of good squat racks (they even have a 3D smith machine), lots of free weights ranging from 1-50kg and so on. It pretty much has everything you'd ever need with some really cool resistance machines. It does also have a lot of plyometric stuff, a punch bag and some decent TRX machines if you like jumping around and swinging like us!
There's some cardio machines as well but its not really that kind of gym. If this is what you want then a lot of the hotels across Bangkok have leisure gyms so just search them on google, be careful as many request you to have a monthly membership or be a guest.
Extras - The gym sells packs of cooked chicken breast and will even cook them up for you on the spot. This was actually pretty well priced at a 120 Baht (£3) per pot which comes with two medium sized chicken breasts, which is not easy to get in Bangkok. They also sell protein powder but be aware, this is extortionate in Asia so if you use it...Bring Your Own!!!!!
Quick Synopsis - Really good gym, the owner came over and introduced himself to us - really nice guy and we spent about 10 minutes chatting to him. They gym itself was pretty quiet - a couple of Thai guys training, so you're not having to wait around for anything. The Air Con is spot on - cool but not freezing. You also won't be short of motivation as every inch of wall is covered in life sized images of bodybuilders ranging from the likes of Phil Heath, Kai Green to the oldskool legends like Frank Zane and Lou Ferrigno.
There's a seating area in reception where you can chill with your chicken breasts and flick through some old magazines of Flex or Mens Fitness. Overall, a fantastic gym accept for the price, which if you're travelling on a budget, is extortionate!
Address - Open 10am - 10pm Mon-Fri and 12pm - 9pm Sat-Sun
